INTRO NOTES TO THE DECK & READING
If you’ve been paying attention to the readings, the themes that have emerged, and the patterns that I’ve pointed out then it will not be a surprise to any of you that the ancients/ancestors/ascended elders are speaking this week about a Tower moment. From a soul level, so much of humanity is crying out for relief. Stop the pain. Stop the fear. Stop the heartache. Stop the merry-go-round of trauma wounds we accumulate lifetime to lifetime, year to year. How much more can we take?
If it feels like these things are crumbling to the core, it’s because…well, it is.
I’m no Chicken Little. I’m not out here in a panic screaming “The sky is falling! The sky is falling!” Nor am I taking to TikTok with a ring light and a hair toss saying, “thank god I’ve escaped the matrix…that is like….so 3D. Love and light, my divine warriors.” Nah, I’m the one who knows that change is a hard journey of confronting mirrors, reexamining our assumptions, and reaching toward, not away, from the togetherness that we share.
But to do so means to let go of our ego’s need to be right, our compulsion for control, and our obsession with appearances. To grow, we have to admit we’re bigger than the spaces we’ve been confined…and that we’re more vulnerable than we seem. While this week’s reading points to an ego death of sorts, it doesn’t follow the same abusive “empty yourself so we can fill you with our doctrine and detach you from believing yourself” that often follows, especially in cultish circles.
No, the message this week is that when we connect, understand, and embrace our vulnerability, and our mistakes, we no longer have to wear our identities as a shield, a costume, or an affectation. Instead, our identities morph into a beautiful quality of lived perspective, an intersection of need, a sign of accepted honesty. It isn’t so much about destroying the ego, but instead shredding all the secrets, failures & responsibilities it’s had to carry so that the community can now take over where it should have been all along.
Where We Are This Week
Opportunity
All Chakras
One of those rare cards that makes an appearance to give us the green light we didn't quite believe we already had. If you look through the readings of the past few weeks and months, you'll find that there are patterns that have been popping up all along. This is that moment where we will have to trust our intuition to know when that moment arrives.
Messages from our Guides
Seven of Swords
Third Eye Chakra
One of patriarchy's most reliable dirty tricks is to immobilize us with apathy, cynicism, and indifference. We can tell when it's working against us when there is an absence and even a disdain for empathy in our vision. If the view of the future doesn't include empathy, room for redemption, and freedom to feel, then we're only serving the needs of a dying world. We already know that stoic disbelief and abject cruelty don't make us any safer or more secure. So, why not try a little empathy? Anything less is a betrayal of our gifts and interconnected purpose.
Messages from Lady Gaia/Mother Earth
Four of Pentacles
Root Chakra
I have a love/hate relationship with this card. Love because it often reassures us of the ability to protect ourselves. Hate because sometimes it borders on paranoia and even greed when taken the wrong way. Here, it is giving us a nudge to take control over the ways others can enter and disrupt our lives, especially our home/family structure. This could be resetting some passwords that were caught in a data breach, fixing the gutters so water doesn't ruin your home (our project this week), or even just giving your emotional boundaries a check. Make those calls you've been avoiding - tend to your material life because soon things will be moving too fast to take care of these things. The investment of your time now will save you a fortune later.
Messages from the Ancients
The Tower
Crown Chakra
IYKYK - I cannot be more direct than what I'm about to say right now: The collective awakening to dysfunctional patterns of ancestral trauma is about to shake the roof off the joint. The minute we collectively recognize and start dealing with the legacies of our interconnected past, then it will be evident how little we can rely on the structures that rely on those biased and manipulated beliefs. It WILL all come crashing down, it's just a question of when and to what severity. Those who refuse to wake up to that call for justice, for another way, will be the most damaged under the weight of its collapse. Say your goodbyes - it's time to evacuate those old towers, temples, and spires.
Messages from Our Future Selves
Queen of Pentacles
Heart Chakra
The same card is in the same place as last week. Then I said, "This card means that we are already stepping into the roles we are being called to. We have been preparing for these roles of compassionate, collective leadership. There is nothing left to get ready for - this transition is imminent." So, not only is this card saying "Ahem, I said what I said..." with this next card from Mother Mary it is a callback to this quote from the Messages in November [https://sharpsweetbella.substack.com/p/rise-of-the-nurturing-leader-messages]:
The death we see now is the price that patriarchy, capitalism, white supremacy, and their cronies extract in order to give themselves eternal life. ... dismantle the space these systems have in our hearts & values [and] we will start to see that ripple effect dismantle the systems that continue to prop up these one-sided, traumatic practices. But first and always, we have to transform our own hearts.

Death
Sacral Chakra
The beauty about this card is when we finally give ourselves to the vulnerability of surrender, that's when we find our greatest strengths and our most heartfelt talents. When we let go of the idea that the structures of the old, the ego needs of the past will ever grant us true safety and happiness, we gain freedom. By shedding the armor of expectation, we can finally jump into the currents of life, bringing us to the people, situations, and spaces that we've been seeking all this time. But first, we have to shred the ego still attached to exploitations of power and identities of greed.
Undercurrent
The Hanged Man (R)
Throat Chakra
The tone I get from this card is, "Look at me! Look at how progressive I am!" kind of virtue signaling. It's the energy of someone who is trying to get credit for all their progressive values without having to change or confront anything about themselves at all. They seem impervious to insight and dependent on approval. They have appointed themselves the hall monitors of our social justice schools of thought - policing everything from how much we post to whether we're vulnerable enough to have any lived experience at all. This energy in the undercurrent has the potential to pull us off our game with ignorant whataboutisms while dunking us in algorithmic waves of toxic people-pleasing, filtered, anarchy-as-aesthetic selfies. But because we're too smart to fall for it, we should direct our energies to documenting it. Observe, examine, and dismantle the patterns and see how the forces of oppression benefit from vapid hall monitors
Final Advice
Seven of Pentacles
Solar Plexus Chakra
This is normally the "get it done" card for me. Here, I feel like something is stalling us out. Like forgetting to put gas in the tank or skipping a stage of the process out of indifference or procrastination. -Or- are we insisting that the letter of the law be followed to appease an ego that needs to be master of a quiet anthill of power? Either way, we have been dragging our feet on the last leg of this journey and are getting stopped by processes that might not even matter tomorrow. This is the signal to do what is necessary even if it's messy and uneven to support that calling we've been given.
PARTING WORDS FROM A GEEK EMPRESS
The idea of an “ego death” ranges from Jungian psychology to Timothy Leary’s LSD trips and a lot of different interpretations of religious texts. But we are familiar with it from the hero’s journey that we know from nearly every corner of storytelling from the MCU to Harry Potter to even Pride & Prejudice. We viscerally respond to the concept of an ego-death, a psychic death of an old identity so that the hero can rise into a new one.
Tarot and especially the Major Arcana follow the Hero’s journey as well ( Tarot Hero’s Journey) forming the basis of these readings and a common framework to understand ourselves. Last week we were called into the service of a calling, an invitation to adventure. But all adventures involve risk, challenge and ultimately force us to confront what we thought we knew. Just like Bilbo, these are the moments when the hero has to choose who they are, what they want, and whether they are willing to take a chance on the unknown.
Here, as always - it matters less what you choose and more that you ensure it is legitimately our choice. Social complacency and apathetic apologism often lull us into believing that we’ve chosen a path when it’s actually been coerced by fear, shame, or guilt. Even though that path is marred with resentment, we cling to it, letting ourselves conform to rigid rules. Breaking free might seem impossible, so where often prefer the comfortable but confining safety of the familiar.
But what if….you could dream more, be more, crashing through all the walls we’ve built around ourselves? What if we left behind the familiar and decided to surrender to the great adventure right in front of us?
No matter what happens this week, remember I am with you always in love 💖
