Hiding in Plain Sight (Messages of Divine Love)
July 14, 2025/The Intuitive Night Goddess Tarot
The Messages of Divine Love offer intuitive insight, weaving together tarot wisdom through the lens of channeled messages from Mother Earth, who grounds and nourishes us; the Ancients, who walk beside us with their guidance; the Guides, who propel us toward growth; Mother Mary, who holds us in unconditional love; and our Future Selves, looking back on the signs we see today, urging us forward with clarity and courage.
Rooted in my lived experience as a bisexual, disabled Chicana and shaped by my work in trauma-informed care and public policy, these readings are offered weekly to the public for free. May they inspire you to foster collective care, creative connection, and a vision of compassionate justice that honors us all💛
INTRO NOTES TO THE DECK & READING
It wasn’t that I couldn’t see the cracks coming; it’s that I saw them coming years ago and am now collecting the vindication points that I am owed for being right all along. Later in this reading, I’ll deliver a warning about gloating, but the actions of the administration in the last week showed that patriarchy will always protect its own…even at, and perhaps especially at, the expense of the trust that got them here. It was always going to come to the severe disconnect between a proudly gross objectifier (Trump) being elevated into a 5D chess-playing savior. The crashdown of that mythology was always going to hurt.
I have been critical of this QAnon dipped mania from the beginning, not just because of Trump’s history and patterns of sexual abuse in various contexts (including being sued by one of Epstein’s victims for his role in her harm), but because I am also a survivor, including grooming by an adult when I was a teenager. I don’t need to detail my history here, but suffice it to say that the “global cabal” matters very little to the kids who were betrayed by people much closer to home (and for some, that means literally in our homes). As we each wake up to what had happened to us, realizing it wasn’t a choice but a conditioning patterned into us by people who didn’t care about consent, none of us can unsee those patterns when they present in stories from Epstein, Diddy, Trump.
Those who care about human trafficking should also care about 1) LGBTQIA+ rights, 2) immigration, and 3) poverty. These are a few of the risk factors that make children vulnerable to trafficking; yet, all three have been exacerbated or threatened to be made worse under this administration. If you wanted to stop trafficking, stopping the ways our systems fail kids is a far better investment. But for people who have never had to work with this kind of vulnerability, who are not awakened to their own, they’ll always go after the bloodthirsty conspiracy over the mundane facts hiding in plain sight.
I am revisiting this quote a lot from last week’s reading:
This will become some of the last of the binaries we will have to choose from - whether to untangle ourselves from the constructed monstrosities committed in the name of dominance. Winners are still losers, and the stories of the rejected are now emerging triumphant from the shadows. All that we've understood about the divide between light and dark is about to get blurred - or rather, the blurred reality will finally be revealed once the walls of the heart come down.
Dualities are breaking apart, but with it, we are left with an impossible choice: Will we grasp the raw opportunities presented to us, not knowing where it will lead, or abdicate control to the same forces that punished our ancestors, tortured their neighbors, and coerced inhumane actions in the name of security and conformity?
I am not usually a fan of using patriarchy’s tools in taking it down, but this week, I think we need to remember that there is some benefit to operating in silence, to working in the undercurrents. In fact, that might be the thing that gives us the best advantage.
Yeah, I know that my advice lately has been about shining in our authenticity - that doesn’t mean we stop dazzling, but we use that mirror ball action to distract from the real work happening underneath it all. Stay nimble, stay quick and trust only those who have met themselves during a dark night of the soul.
Where We Are This Week
Seven of Wands
Root Chakra - Defending the sacred ground of healing
I wish I had better news for us at the start of this week, but we’re going to have to defend ourselves from the forces and triggers of our past that most threaten our healing. Each of us has fought hard to reclaim some aspect of our lives, to call in our power, to seize back the territory of imagination, hope, and trust that had been taken from us. Well, this week, that is going to be tested. We’ll have to keep our guard up for a bit longer to ward off those uncommonly insidious threats to our inner security. This is why the people we have chosen to be around us matter. If they recognize the harm that’s coming toward you, they can raise their shield and likewise you with them. So, even though the reminders might pierce like bitter shards of glass, the more we rely on each other to get through, the easier it will be to endure.
From Our Guides
Reclamation/The Devil
Third Eye Chakra - Illusion-shattering
What we saw this past week with the Trump administration’s announcement that “there is no Epstein client list” only illustrates this card in full sight. After years of jumping up and down, proclaiming that he would take down all these powerful people, the savior has failed once again. It’s easy to mistake the Emperor for the Devil - we expect the devil to dress up in finery and parade himself as superior. But the Devil is just the squeak of the taunt, “but the emperor has no clothes,” it mockingly echoes from the crowd. The devil is the illusion-shattering imp that forces you to reclaim your senses and see what has been right in front of you all along (which is why the Tower follows the Devil; once the truth is reclaimed, the structure cannot hold).
Messages from Lady Gaia/Mother Earth
Five of Pentacles (R)
Sacral Chakra - Interconnected Earthwork
Contrary to what it might normally seem, this card affirms that we are getting closer to having a true network of care to support the work we are doing on behalf of Mother Earth. But it’s going to take all of our effort to lift it up into being. I focus here on the sacral chakra because we’re going to have to feel on a visceral level how that interconnectedness thrives. In particular, the theme of water as a unifier resonates even more clearly as the summer storms continue to ravage over-saturated earth, causing floods and climate-related disasters.
Messages from the Ancients
Nymph (Page) of Cups (R)
Throat Chakra - Discernment in an age of overstimulation
The page of cups is prone to exaggeration and over-stimulation at times. The interns of the group, their eagerness, can often cause them to be a little over-trusting, especially with the information they consume. They lack the life experience to know when something is too good to be true or too false to be accountable. Especially with AI able to fool even the best of us, we all need to be much more discerning about where we put our trust, including the trust we give the stories of the past. How many narratives were crafted by over-eager, willing-to-please messengers who drank from poisoned wells?
Messages from Our Future Selves
Nine of Pentacles (R)
Crown Chakra - False Comfort
Not loving this card in the future selves. This means we are likely betting on the wrong horse right now. How many of us took the choices of last week and still chose the safe, easy, or conforming thing? I know I did, and I hate it. The Nine of Pentacles reversed in the future selves is what will happen if we continue to be uncritical with who and what we trust. The gullibility of the page of cups reversed (from the ancients) warns of how many stories we passed between us that are just myths created to make our ancestors feel better about the bad choices offered to them? But all of us are so tired that it’s easy to slide back into the easy groove, and we’ll continue to swallow the leftovers of disappointment like those who came before us. Instead, re-examine the risk profile of the projects you’re working on. Costs have likely shifted, timing has changed, and you’ll face more challenges as you dig deeper.
Messages from Mother Mary
Nine of Cups
Heart Chakra - Self-Celebration
It might be hard to believe, but a charming encounter with the best of yourself is the medicine that can set all of this right. Of course, we can find that fulfillment in our relationships or families, but it’s so much more satisfying when we can step back and toast to ourselves for making it further than we ever have before. Make yourself your own best friend, take yourself on a date, and celebrate the precious and awe-inspiring person you really are.
In fact…in the comments below, I want you to share something that is making you proud at the start of this week:
Undercurrents
Six of Wands (R)
Heart Chakra - Humility in Victory
With all of that said, especially with Nine of Cups from Mother Mary, I want to warn you against gloating. It’s one thing to celebrate your successes, it’s quite another to slap someone with “told you so!” especially when they’re already spiraling. You’re not doing anyone any favors by rubbing their noses in their mistakes. Instead, find a way to become the kind of leader you needed them to be at the time the choice was made.
Final Advice
Queen of Cups
Solar Plexus Chakra - Compassionate Leadership
When towers are coming down, who do people most want to see emerging from the settling dust? Angry, protective, judgmental priests of shame or warm, loving hands of help? There is a confidence in being able to offer something to slake the thirst that many are going to be coming in with. They missed the signs and signals of a falling patriarchy, of being used to prop up predators, so be the one who glows from within, filling the cup with the first nourishment they’ve felt in ages. Trust me, when it comes to building a better network of connections, it is the confidence of this offering that might make all the difference.
PARTING WORDS FROM A GEEK EMPRESS
We are the first responders of this collapse - those of us who have integrated some healing lessons, have learned from our mistakes, have aligned ourselves with humanity. In these days of chaos, we are bound to be tested. How committed are we to providing emotional nourishment? How committed are we to paths that intersect with those whom we might loathe? And how willing are we to step out of our isolation long enough to recognize the hollow lines we’ve been fed?
I’ve been rewatching a lot of Snowpiercer this week, a favorite of mine, not just because of the exceptional cast, but the honest storytelling about how we organize ourselves into factions. Evil is organized around excess, order balanced strategically through betrayals. Just like the passengers and workers of Snowpiercer have to deal with the truth that the great Mr. Wilford is not in the engine, we too are dealing with truths that have been there all along. When “the devil” (Andre Layton, played by Daveed Diggs) reveals the secret to the budding serial killer from first class, he knows he’s starting a revolution, taking advantage of the distraction.
But the key is that all of it happens from the shadows, from the undercurrents of the train’s already fractured, class-disciplined politics. All it takes is a tug on the right thread, and things start to fall apart quickly until the balance of power is won. So too will this be. We’ll have to take advantage of moments, not by gloating and drawing attention to how right we are, but with whispers and nudges, a squeak from the crowd that draws attention to the big lies, not the measly excuses.
When people wake up to the lies, to the assumptions, to the unearned goodwill that has been squandered, it is up to us to respond in the way that models the choices that should have been made in the first place. That isn’t handing people poisoned cups of shame, but rather life-giving information that nourishes the mind into acceptance of the truth that was always there, but strategically hidden from their sight.
As always, may blessings follow you throughout the week to remind you that you are never alone: We are all connected 💖
