INTRO NOTES TO THE DECK & READING
One of the things I love about this deck is not just the layers of imagery, but the connection to sacred geometry, something I’ve been playing a lot with over the past five years. As you flip through these cards this week, I want you to see which images really stand out for you and offer deeper meanings. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this deck (Unifying Consciousness).
Unlike normal readings where I pull the cards the Thursday or Friday before, this week I didn’t lay out the cards until Sunday morning. And boy, did they have a lot to say on the heels of the “No Kings” protests that happened nationwide. So to be that inspired but see only more of the same gaslighting from the Trump administration, it feels almost like false hope.
But what is stirring is so deeply embedded in the earth, so hidden away from the prying eyes of patriarchy’s most bombastic fools, that it is going to take time for it to rise to the surface. But rising it is…and it’s got all the power of our ancestors behind it. Seriously, the ancients and ascended elders drop in with a clear and complete message: Never again.
We need to listen closely to the elders of the past in order to avoid the poison that has kept humanity on the brink for so long. If you listen hard enough, you’ll hear all the ways they always be tellin’ on themselves. That will be useful…stay in tune with the guidance and don’t let them influence how you see the world or how you shine your light.

Heart Chakra
This week, we see evidence that only the truly brave know how to lead with the heart. It’s too messy, emotional, and…generously open for the predominant forces of life, which is why we see our national leaders deriding empathy, calling it weakness. Here’s a hint: when they have to work this hard to know to tell you how evil it is, the more threatened they are by it. So when they go this far to craft a message of dominance and superiority over the allure of empathy and heart-centered leadership, the more they are scared we’ll actually win people over. This is how you know we’re winning - they’re fighting harder, their blows more desperate. They’re going to make a mistake, and we’ll be right there with the bitter medicine to help them gulp down their failures so true transformation can take hold.

Friends, I know everything is scary right now, but I want us to lean into the inevitable life cycle of this crumbling empire of ignorance. As these systems are falling so are the ones within us, the safety we took for granted, the monetary support we thought we could always rely on. It’s going to be scary for a while because we’re right in the middle of this and we can’t yet see the glimmers of hope, but from up above, this is going exactly to plan. Grieve, yes, but know it is nourishing the roots of what is growing in its stead.

Have you noticed how an achingly sweet nostalgia for the way things were has been steadily passed around from movement to movement, cup to cup? This is no mistake. A call back to a “simpler time” is attractive medicine. But few realize how addictive that libation can be. Because if we indulge the bottom of that cup too often, we’ll soon lose sight of why we didn’t like it in the first place. Too many are drinking from a poisoned cup, acclimating themselves to the sour taste, convincing themselves how sweet they’ve been told it should be. But you’ve been healed for long enough to sense the bitterness at the bottom, the sediment of sentimentality that will choke you if you hadn’t become wise to the lie.

Oh my friends, the ancestors are in the driver’s seat this week. They want us to be clear in our purpose, intentional in righting the wrongs of the past. “Never again” is a promise they made to us and the generations before. But it has to be activated in us to truly take root. Do all in your power to speak up against injustice this week. This isn’t a suggestion, but a command.

Yes, this card is about disillusionment - Mother Mary came to us with this card last week (in the heart chakra). But that disillusionment is a natural part of the death process that the Guides described this week. But if we keep expecting perfection or a particular result, we’ll miss the signs when the right opportunities for advancement come along. Realign your vision to look for the potential, not the perfection.

Solar Plexus Chakra
Part of the reason you’re feeling overwhelmed right now is strategic - if you have to fight on too many fronts, eventually even you will start to see allies as enemies and activism as performance. That’s the problem with fighting for the right, sometimes, we have to take a step back enough to revisit whether we’re actually…you know, right. Here, Mother Mary advises us to examine our own motives whenever we are feeling disillusioned by others’ actions or inactions in this battle for justice. Are we fighting the right battles, against the right people, or have we become agents of the very chaos we’re here to redirect?

You might not have noticed this, but there have been some personal triumphs that deserve to be celebrated in your world. Whether it’s a “I got up today!” or you finally landed that opportunity of a lifetime, it doesn’t matter how big or small the success is; by celebrating and declaring it, you’re offering hope and inspiration for others. Do not keep your successes to yourself; this is how we spread the joy around to unlock new openings in our collective growth.

There are going to be some painful goodbyes, some opportunities, and relationships lost. But don’t let that deter you from chasing the next dream, pouring yourself into the offered cups of progress you find. You might have been uprooted, but it’s only to be planted in more fertile ground that can support instead of stunt your growth.

The key to this week is not to let our natural distrust turn us against opportunity. We can’t always play it safe, and sometimes we’re going to have to take a gamble on someone or something. Don’t let the risk of that impede you from doing the right thing. Look at where stubbornness is blinding you to a new path or where greed is making you clamp down on your generosity. How does envy play into your dreams? Or comparison reinforces your lack? Whose game are we really playing?
PARTING WORDS FROM A GEEK EMPRESS
For all my talk about divine timing last week, it is obvious that mine is off this week. Granted, I did some brave things - like setting a boundary with family and going to the dentist - victories that feel almost embarrassing to celebrate so openly here. But celebrate them I must because these were two things that were standing in the way of both my mental health and one of my dearest dreams coming true.
But alongside it, I’ve had to deal with the bitter reality that the world expects me to show up only a certain way, and each person’s version is just a fraction of who I really am. So the challenge in showing up authentic is the risk that people just won’t accept me. I can handle not being liked, but I don’t love being in the dark about why. It’s easy for me to make allies, but I usually don’t realize until too late that my actions have created enemies.
The king of pentacles reversed this week reminds me of the incessantly obsessed villain. The one who makes us a target the moment we walk into a room. No matter how hard we try, we won’t ever be able to get their approval; they will always have a chip on their shoulder from some prior grievance that likely had nothing to do with us. Just like we can trace the bitterness that President Snow has against District 12 in The Hunger Games, we can also trace the bitterness in the ether now to the greedy ambitions of powerful men threatened by the stubborn authenticity of plucky, unpredictable women. That authenticity has to be snuffed out, has to be punished, lest others get ideas.
Which is why we see people like Don Jr. spouting nonsense that equates transness to murder. They are desperate to hold onto power, so they’ll unleash their worst to make sure we get tied down in the rhetoric of their command. When we let them set the rules of the game, we’ll end up in the arena as entertainment. Which is why it’s all the more important that we reexamine where we’ve let them succeed in making us enemies of each other. And where that doesn’t succeed, just like President Snow, they’ll drink their own poison to hide their crimes.
Those who have done some of their healing work will recognize the acrid smell of the poison - the forced happiness, the vacant eyes, the compromised values, the unimpeded wealth, and addictions to power. It requires conformity or at the very least, acquiescence, and if we’re really powerful, they’ll find a way to make us into the enemy of everyone else. The same tactic they used on Jesus works with any good person who rejects the poisoned programming.
But reject it, we will. No brain worms for us today, thanks! Keep leading forward and let their behavior speak so loudly that the way of empathy will seem like true relief.
